TwinHubs

Twin Hubs is a mixed mobility project that is part of the European Union Twin Hubs Creative FLIP Peer2Peer Programme, implemented by the European Creative Hub Network, of which Originn is a member. In this project, which is based on the "Sister Cities" model and appeals to creative centers that want to establish a new and long-term collaboration with another center, Izmir and Lesbos are included as sister cities, and Originn and Changemakers Lab in Lesbos carry out their work as "Twin Hubs".
Originn co-founder Esra Gönen, who continues to show her activities in Lesbos and Izmir within the scope of the Twin Hubs Project, and Changemakers Lab founder Vasili Sofiadellis held various stakeholder meetings in both Izmir and Lesbos throughout the process to look for ways to increase cultural ties and interaction between both locations. and evaluated cooperation opportunities with key players contributing to the tourism ecosystem.

The Sustainable Tourism with Collective Routes Panel in Izmir with 60+ participants, including both Turkish and Greek participants, was the first step in consolidating the acquaintances made through these meetings and creating a space for establishing ties between the two cities.
In addition to the work and collaborations carried out throughout the process, after this panel in Izmir, the potential of Izmir in terms of migration entrepreneurship was recognized by the Refugee Enrtepreneurship Network (REN) as a result of the past migration culture between both cities and the outputs obtained as a result of this event, and the 6th REN Summit, which is organized in a different city of the world every year, took place in Izmir immediately after the Sustainable Tourism with Collective Routes Panel held within the scope of TwinHubs.
