This month's guest at CreativeMornings Izmir is Figen Gürsoy @figen.gursoy.50 , a retired general practitioner and carrier of the cultural heritage of Turkish Miniature Art. Born in Akhisar, Manisa in 1962, Figen Gürsoy graduated from İzmir Girls' High School, Ege Faculty of Medicine, Anadolu Open University (AÖF) with a degree in Sociology and Cultural Heritage. She retired in 2006 after completing 20 years of public service as a general practitioner. Since then, for 18 years, she has passionately continued her miniature painting education and production. In 2013, her work titled "Istanbul/City of Seven Hills/Respect for the Silhouette" won first prize in the Turkish Decorative Arts Competition of the Ministry of Culture. With the inclusion of Turkish Miniature Painting Art in UNESCO's List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity...
