ORIGINN

CREATIVE HUB

Originn is a creative hub that offers innovation and sustainability services, while encompassing co-working and collaborative spaces.

Together with its Ahali (community), Originn builds creative communities around shared values.

Guided by these values, it develops collaboration models for its stakeholders and creates shared workspaces with the motivation to serve as an interface for a multidisciplinary culture of production.

ORIGINN
LOOKING FORWARD TO 2024

As the first co-working space in İzmir, we continue to grow each year through new experiences that remind us of who we are, reinforce our values, and strengthen our culture of collaboration.

In 2024, we once again placed participation at the heart of how we designed our space and services. We continued to build a living environment that supports creativity, encourages co-creation and enables sustainable economic value.

The past year was a period of reflection one in which we re-examined the values that define us, deeply felt the power of transparency and moved together through challenges that tested our resilience. The trust we’ve built with the individuals and institutions who support us remains the strongest foundation of our collective approach to creation.

2024 has been a year of greater impact, deeper collaboration, and more meaningful outcomes. As we stepped into the year, our intention was clear: to keep working with full commitment to building partnerships focused on positive and lasting impact to be a determined and compassionate partner in every step.

In this report, we invite you to look back with us and reflect on the value we’ve created together.

Here’s to many more shared achievements in the years to come.

AHALI

In Turkish, “Ahali” refers to a “community of people living in a certain place.”

At Originn Creative Hub, Ahali represents more than just a community it embodies a structure built on collaboration, sharing, and solidarity.

For Originn, Ahali is the foundation of a shared culture of living and working. Individuals who work, create, and come together in the space generate collective values through collaboration.

Ahali is shaped by an understanding rooted in sharing common spaces, co-creation, and meaningful interaction within the community.

As emphasized in Hardt and Negri’s Commonwealth, the commons are not limited to physical resources—they also include the social, cultural, and intellectual values shared by communities.

At Originn, Ahali carries these commons and grows through collaboration.

At the heart of our story is inspiration.

Originn is more than just a space it’s an ecosystem that inspires the individual journeys of its Ahali.

Here, every contribution feeds another. This structure—where individuals inspire one another and collective creation adds value—defines Originn’s identity.

Guided by a vision of solidarity, Originn continues to be a center where individuals discover themselves while creating together. This community, shaped by the stories of Ahali, offers a model for future collaborations.

Designed with a human-centered approach, Originn offers a broad perspective—from spatial services to innovation projects, from a sustainability vision to the development of creative communities.

popupstore
popupstore

Throughout 2024, #OriginnPopUpStore was opened 16 times. 26 different brands took part in these meetings.

Each month, we opened up a space for a different entrepreneur, boutique producer or designer, allowing them to share their stories and promote their products. Pop-Up Store events were more than just a sales point; they also created an interaction area where conversations about design and production processes took place and the community met directly with producers.

In this way, we have managed to introduce a social purchasing culture to our community. These events will continue in 2025 and will continue to provide more visibility to local producers. In addition, economic benefits were achieved and social ties were strengthened thanks to the collaborations with local producers.

Originn continues to evolve as an ecosystem where individuals inspire each other and production progresses in a community-based manner, rather than just a physical workspace.

Originn Creative Hub aims to transform physical spaces into platforms that foster creativity and enable productive collaborations.
In 2024, a total of 161 events were organized, welcoming 4,849 visitors to our space.

Through these events, creative processes of both individuals and institutions were supported, while community culture and collaborative networks were strengthened.

Ahali: More Than a Community—The Power of Creating Together

Ahali actively engaged not only through events but also in daily production processes, making full use of Originn’s spatial resources.
Over the course of 2024, more than 150 meetings were held in our meeting rooms.

To strengthen Ahali—one of Originn’s core pillars—we created a structure that fosters new connections and collective production within the space.
By adopting a principle of “spatial neutrality” for shared areas, we facilitated smoother collaboration processes and enhanced solidarity among individuals.

CREATIVEMORNINGS

IZMIR

CreativeMornings is a free monthly breakfast meetup event designed for the creative community. CreativeMornings is an international event currently held in 69 countries and 238 cities worldwide.

Approximately 27,000 people attend CreativeMornings talks each month. Each month, we invite relevant speakers around themes determined by a different host city in the world; bringing their work, life stories, projects and views to creative communities.

The Izmir section of the CreativeMornings event series, which was started by Tina Roth Eisenberg in 2008 with creative communities in New York and is based on the idea that "everyone can update each other's status while having breakfast," started to be run by Originn as of December 2020.

Throughout 2024, we came together with participants on different themes and with different speeches.

The shared tables we have been holding in December for two years have now become a tradition and this year, we met at the same table with all the participants.

ORIGINN BOOK CLUB

FACILITATOR:

DODO - NİHAL YURTSEVEN

Originn Book Club began its journey at Originn as a space where we nourish one another through diverse perspectives on the books we read.

With a new book each month, our club continues to grow through learning, listening, sharing, and being inspired by different viewpoints.

The joy of reading and the power of collective reflection continue to enrich our experience.

Dodokitap, operating since 2018 in Karşıyaka, İzmir, is both a bookstore and a café.

Initially founded as a bookstore focused on children’s literature and parenting resources, Dodokitap has since expanded to offer a thoughtfully curated collection for adult readers as well.

What sets Dodokitap apart is its boutique approach.

With a deep understanding of its readers, it offers carefully selected books based on content quality and the depth of the reading experience—rather than popularity or author recognition.

In addition to hosting book clubs for both open and closed groups, Dodokitap brings together reading enthusiasts in intimate settings, allowing for focused discussions and in-depth engagement on specific topics.

Beyond regular reading sessions, it organizes events for both children and adults, fostering a sense of belonging within its growing community.

Food communities are reshaping the direct producer-consumer relationship that has been going on for centuries, with the possibilities of the age. This community offers not only food supply, but also an area of interaction that supports information sharing, awareness-raising and nature-friendly production.

The Originn Food Community met at Originn 15 times in 2024.

What is Originn Food Community?

This community, supported by GETO, meets once a month on Originn:

  • It consists of small producers and individuals who adopt pesticide-free, natural farming.

  • It brings producers directly together with producers through a model without any intermediaries.

  • It is open to anyone who wants to join, not just the Originn People.

  • Producers determine their needs through the food list shared via e-mail and receive their products from Originn once a month.

Why Originn Food Community to Produce and Derive Food?

This community not only buys food;

ENABLE THE ENABLERS

CLIMATE ACTION

September 01, 2024 - March 31, 2026

The social and environmental challenges we face today are not only complex, but also systemic and structural. As we address these challenges, we act with the vision of constantly inspiring a shared culture of living and working, even in times of uncertainty.

In this regard, we open up areas of cooperation, develop new projects and continue to support initiatives that focus on impact.

As Originn Creative Hub, we took our vision one step further and, together with our international business partners Veronica and FBW/4, we implemented the “Enable the Enablers” project with the support of the European Union.

We took the first step of this exciting journey with the Kick-off meeting we organized in the past months. In addition, since 2018, we have been the Izmir organizer of the Climathons supported by EIT Climate-KIC and carried out simultaneously in 108 countries around the world.

We now use the experience we have gained over the years to find solutions to the social and environmental challenges created by the climate crisis in urban life, to mobilize communities and to train enablers who will make new Climathons possible.

The work we carry out in this context emphasizes the importance of community-based transformation in combating the climate crisis and contributes to the dissemination of participatory and sustainable methods.

AGRI CLIMACCELERATOR

This collaboration aims to support and scale innovative initiatives working in the field of sustainable agriculture and food systems and to develop impact-oriented business models.

As Originn, we are happy to contribute content to this program and take an active role in supporting startups on their sustainability journey.
